Welcome to my blog! I'm Sari, a mother of a 2 year old girl and 7 year old boy/girl twins. I started this blog 6 years ago when I started using cloth diapers. If you scroll back to the earlier posts, you can see my learning adventure with the twins, there's a lot of really helpful information if you are interested in cloth diapers. I hope that this can be a valuable source of information for other moms contemplating making the switch to cloth diapers and/or making their own diapers.

Now I'm using this as more of a general "mom blog". I'm crafty, I like to bake and I'm currently a group fitness instructor and a Beachbody coach. I may plug my own business every so often (click here!), but I will expand my topics to cover basically anything that I feel like writing about - experiences I have or products that I think deserve a review (both good and bad). If I'm getting paid or benefiting in any way then that will be mentioned in the post.

Do you have a product that you would like me to try and review? Send me an email

New baby, new blog!

Well, same old blog, but there is a new baby! My daughter, Eden, was born at 32 weeks on July 23 via emergency c-section due to uterine rupture. She spent 24 days in the NICU and she is home now and doing great. I'm excited to be able to cloth diaper an infant because I didn't start with my twins until they had already turned 1. Since Eden was so early, I wasn't really prepared. I'm struggling to get together enough of a newborn stash to be able to ditch the pampers. She's just over 6lbs now, but her tushy looks so tiny and I wonder how I'm going to be able to get cloth on her. As I figure this out, I'll be posting about my adventures.

This time around I'm not going to be talking exclusively about cloth diapers. I'll pretty much review any baby item I've got that I think deserves a review - either good or bad. For instance, I bought the Angelcare baby monitor that is supposed to tell you if your baby stops breathing while she is asleep. If you've ever had a NICU baby you probably understand the fear behind that purchase. Eden had apnea episodes in the hospital and she was given caffeine every morning to help prevent apnea spells. A few days before she was discharged they stopped her caffeine. Following that she had bradycardia episodes every time she ate. Her heart rate would drop to as low as 50 and it gave me a heart attack every time. The machines started beeping and her little face would turn red. They didn't release her until the brady episodes stopped, but it still worries me. I upped my own caffeine consumption so that she would still be getting some from my breastmilk. I find this funny because I've always thought that breastfeeding moms were supposed to lay off the caffeine. Who knew that it was good for preemies?

Nursing bras, breast pumps, it's all fair game. If I'm using it, chances are I'll be talking about it and hopefully it will help others :) I'll also be blogging about my experiences in general. For example, we live in the US but Eden was born while we were visiting family in Canada. I now have quite of bit of personal knowledge about the differences between giving birth in the US vs. Canada. I find it interesting, and you might too. Thanks for stopping by! ~Sari
